“There are four focus animals in the book. And when I go over these, I’m gonna go around super fast right now. But everyone listening will probably be able to identify with probably all four, but really you major in one and minor in the other. So the four are, as you mentioned, there’s the army and an army. And if you don’t know that can carry 10,000 times their way, right, so the strongest animal on the planet. So an army ant as a focus animal, we take on too many things at once, because we can like we can do it. But it doesn’t mean we should do it. Because actually, it takes us longer to get all of them done. And think about the army and you have so much you’re carrying, you can’t get it into the hole, right? You can’t get it back home. So that’s what an army ant struggles with your parallel processes a bunch of stuff rather than you are better off, just focusing on one thing at a time.

If you’re a chameleon, you’re a people pleaser. So all these are positive things, but it’s to an extreme so that you’re a people pleaser. Like I should stay in this job. Because I know that my wife likes the hours or you know, I’m gonna go into this vocation because I think I’ll make my parents happy. And so you’re a people pleaser to that extreme. And so it’s a benefit to you. But then you take it to the extreme, you never think about yourself, and you don’t focus on yourself enough. If you did, you’d actually be better for everyone around you, as well.

The third one’s the Hedgehog, a hedgehog, someone that’s out there. If you’re listening, you’re like, Yeah, I have an idea to write a book. But first, I’ve got to do this. I got to make sure I have the time I’ve got to get a Ph.D. in writing. And so it hedgehogs again, they’re positive folks, hedgehogs, like if you’re a lawyer, your job is basically to say no. And so when they come to you, “Hey, we got to put all of our investments in crypto,” like maybe not all of them, you know, so I had talked to your detriment of the things keeping you back. Because you think you needed to do X, Y, and Z before you actually start on that focus. And so it’s really about making sure you get there and stepping up.

[I] mentioned the squirrel. A lot of us wrestle with this, this is something that I minor in is the You’re amazing at starting new projects, and you get excited, but then you’re not the best at actually completing them because you get excited about the next shiny object. And so you go on to the next thing before you’ve actually finished this one. And a lot of times those go hand in hand with the army ant. So I major in army ant, and minor in squirrel, but I can definitely identify with all four of them.”
