LinkedIn Case Studies: Building Interest for a Non-Profit

Challenge: Meg Harris struggled to find amenities and resources that would allow her daughter, whom suffers from a neurological disease, to travel the world without restrictions.

Action: She started a business called SpecialGlobe—essentially a TripAdvisor for special needs families. Meg set out to build her brand by using LinkedIn to network with powerful figures within the travel industry.

Result: LinkedIn helped Meg gain connections with a founding member of the Priceline team, as well as other key in- fluencers within the travel industry. Not only did she gain connections through LinkedIn, Meg also gained media attention to help highlight and create awareness for her cause, including USA Today and The Huffington Post. [i]
